Loosey Goosey is no longer alone, she now has a husband named Conrad. A strapping young White Chinese Gander. Both are totally enamored with each other, wandering around the farm, honking in unison, taking baths together in the kiddie pool…. Of course we came home with 8 extra goslings and 8 little ducklings who all currently inhabit the nursery. What a zoo. The drive home from Sylvester, where we picked up Conrad, was a bit on the eventful side. Since we also used the trip to pick up 18 8-foot long boards, we drove the pick-up. The weather was cold and wet and nasty, so we put Conrad and the babies in their crates in the cabin of the 4-door pick up truck along with the 4 humans. 1 minute inside the truck and Conrad started honking and one gosling answered. They honked and peeped for the 1 hour 15 minutes and 13 seconds it took to get back home. My right ear is still only back to 67% of its hearing. Abby has fled to Naples and Eric has not left the bed since. But all that matters is that Loosey and Conrad are happy. I’m sure we’ll be able to report on their babies in the near future .
